Why Funerals are important

Funerals provide a safe place to express loss and sorrow

A funeral service gives you and everyone the opportunity to say goodbye to your loved one.

Funerals let the living say goodbye

Everyone needs to say goodbye. Even the smallest and quietest goodbye allows us to cope with our grief. Funerals are often unrecognised for the comfort they can provide us. Since the dawn of time, people have found ways to honour their deceased loved ones. They create customs to celebrate a past life and to allow the deceased to rest in peace. Whether you call it a ceremony, a send-off, or a tribute, funerals are not for the deceased, but for the people connected to that person.

Funerals are about letting grief go

Funeral services allow a person to alleviate sorrow. Researchers and professionals view funerals as an answer to releasing internalized grief. It helps to ease the initial shock and disbelief felt from the loss. A funeral service reinforces the truth that your loved ones are gone. It is a suitable place to express grief with close friends and relatives.

Funerals remind you who you can count on

A funeral is a gathering of supportive people. It’s where they remember, recount stories, pay respect, and most of all, let you know they still care about you. It lets you know who’s around to support you in the days and years ahead after your loss
